why our oil change is different

A cheap oil change is what most people are looking for when the car starts to beep or lets them know it needs one. Most look at an oil change as a necessary evil;  looking for oil change coupons, searching for the best oil change prices from their phone, etc.  In fact, there is an entire oil change service industry where shops only do oil changes. The problem is that they do not do quality oil changes. They cut corners by using cheaper oil filters and bulk oil that in many cases, doesn't meet the industry standards for your engine. Worst of all, they don't do any inspections or preventive maintenance.  In our professional opinion, that is the wrong way to look at an oil change. We believe those quickie oil change places are not the best place to get an oil change.

A quality oil change service should consist of: Quality oil that meets or exceeds industry standards (preferably a synthetic), a quality oil filter that has a metal inner cage and an anti-drain back valve, a full inspection of all lights, steering and suspension components, lubrication of all wear components, and a check of tire pressures, tire tread life and brake pad condition. The last thing should be a check of all fluids ( including both condition and level) and then check the schedule for preventive maintenance that is  provided by the manufacturer.

Most oil change service shops or quickie oil change and lube places don't meet this standard. Most general repair shops that would do a quality oil change job do not preform that many oil changes. Here at MD Automotive, we don't see that many oil changes either, but we want to. We usually don't see the customer until something has broken or the car don't start. When we asked our customers and others why they use the cheap oil change places, they said it was two reasons: Cost and convenience. Well we think we can provide both of those. This month we are giving away FREE quality oil change services and tire rotations on Saturday 3/14/20. Keep checking back with us, as we plan to do these every quarter.
